TA Howard Honor Band
You are cordially invited to the T. A. Howard Honor Band Midwest Send-Off Concert, Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 4:30pm at the Murchison Performing Arts Center. The Murchison is located at 2100 South Interstate 35E, Denton Texas 76266. The Murchison is one of the 3 premier acoustic performing art venues in all of DFW (along with Bass Hall and the Meyerson).
TA Howard Honor Band received this amazing invitation to perform at the 2017 Midwest Clinic in Chicago, the largest instrumental music education conference in the world. This marks the first time a Mansfield ISD band has been selected to be featured in the legendary conference which bills itself as showcasing the ‘finest performances from around the globe’ since 1946.
We are so proud of our Honor Band students and our Band Directors, Nathaniel Neugent and Victoria Hitz.
TA Howard Honor Band TA Howard Middle School’s Honor Band received the top honor in The Foundation for Music Education’s 2017 contest. The Honor Band is a National Winner representing the top 25-percent of outstanding bands from across the country. In the past 10 years, Director of Bands Nathaniel Neugent has received National Winner eight times and has been commended twice.
In the foundation’s Class AAAAA division, Summit High School’s Wind Symphony was one of seven symphonic bands chosen for the national honor along with Mansfield’s Lake Ridge High School Wind Symphony.
Mansfield Timberview High school received Commended Winner representing the second 25-percent of all bands.
The Mark of Excellence project recognizes and awards outstanding achievement in performance by high school and middle school bands, choirs and orchestras from across the country. The top 25% of entrants are recognized as National Winners, with the second 25% named as Commended Winners.
The Foundation for Music Education is dedicated to the support and advancement of music education through scholarships and other worthwhile projects.
