24-25 Goodside Health

T.A. Howard is excited to introduce you to our new partners in health - Goodside Health. This is a telehealth service that allows students to be seen by a doctor/physician assistant/nurse practitioner when students become ill at school. There are many benefits to this program. “We aim to bring affordable, high-quality pediatric care to students with or without insurance.” This does require parent consent.

Telehealth appointments take place in the school clinic setting with the student using a MISD iPad; parents join the visit via a secure link (must be present to start visit).

The health care provider (HCP) can order mediations such as Tylenol/Motrin to help your student control uncomfortable symptoms (fever, headache, vomiting).

They can order COVID/FLU/Strep throat testing when clinically indicated. These test(s) will be performed in the school clinic and results will be sent to the HCP.

If indicated the HCP can call in prescription(s) to your local pharmacy. Examples are antibiotics for strep throat positive students, antibiotic eye drops for students diagnosed with conjunctivitis (pink eye).etc.

Support staff is available to help parents with the registration process, insurance questions and or payment questions. Max out of pocket EVER is $50 excluding prescriptions.

You will receive a discharge care summary and a school note which will be sent directly from the school nurse to the attendance clerk.
